Synopsis

Glenda Collens, Trinidad and Tobago auditions consultant for Disney Cruise Line®, is seeking talented and versatile male and female musical theatre performers for Mainstage roles on their luxury cruise liners, the Disney Magic®, Disney Wonder®, and our newest, state of the art ship, the Disney Dream®.

Contracts begin throughout the year, running approximately 7-9 months, and include itineraries sailing the Caribbean Sea, the Bahamas, Mexico and Alaska.

Disney Cruise Line hires a repertory company of 20 performers for up to four musical theatre style shows including The Golden Mickeys, Villains Tonight and the award‐wining, Disney Dreams.

Seeking the following roles:
  Lion King Vocalists - (20's - 30's) - Male and female to portray African prince and princess who sing 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight'.

Female Pop Gospel - (30's) Gospel singer, has the ability to 'bring down the house'. Movement a plus.

Jafar - Jafar is pompous but dangerous and powerful. But in this show he reveals his softer side and sings “Wind Beneath My Wings” Tall and skinny. Smooth.. High range- 'E'. Boom-y, powerful sound - ideally with both legit and pop capabilities.

Sophia Greenaway - young 20’s, female actress/principal vocalist of African-heritage. Strong soprano/mix. Dr. Greenaway's young daughter with a positive spirit, upbeat energy and lovely air about her. She loves her dad very much. (Will also play Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog).

Naveen – late 20’s – 30’s, actor of Latin or Mediterranean heritage. Princess Tiana’s love interest from The Princess and the Frog. Handsome, baritone/tenor, 5’11 and above.

Rafiki – 30’s and above, female actress/principal vocalist of African-heritage with a rich, soulful pop sound; host who tells the story of the Lion King. Performs the song "The Circle of Life".

Cinderella/Snow White/Belle/Mary Poppins/Sleeping Beauty - early 20’s – 30’s, female, strong principal vocalists, poised and graceful, Alto to Soprano dependent on role. 5’4”- 5’8”.

Audition Requirements for Singers

Performers must be at least 18 years of age
 

Please provide a current headshot and resume

Headshots should be 10" by 8", colour or black and white.

Resumes, on ONE page attached to the back of headshot, should contain your singing history - production/show - date - company - or maybe your forte has just been Karaoke.

Anything else should be listed under "Skills", eg. Dance (level) - rides a Uni-cycle - Skydiving etc

Please prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre selection and
provide sheet music, in the correct key, for the accompanist

16 bars of music = approx. 1 min - 1 1/2 mins of singing time.

You can sing Acappella (without instrumental accompaniment) if you do not have sheet music. You will, however, not be allowed to sing with a backing track (instrumental accompaniment on CD).

You are not required to read or write music but must be able to learn a song quickly should you get a call back.

You are not limited to any of these musicals. They are merely indications of the many styles you have available to choose from.
